Superintendent Sarah Wasson was recognized during the October 8, 2019 regular school board meeting for being named 2019 Kentucky Director of Pupil Personnel of the Year by the Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel Association. The award was presented to Mrs. Wasson at the KDPP Fall Institute on Thursday, September 12 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington.
Superintendent Wasson was nominated for her work in the Powell County School District and for her contributions to the KDPP organization. Prior to her selection as Lee County Schools superintendent in June, Mrs. Wasson served as Director of Pupil Personnel for eleven years in Powell County.
