We would like to thank Mr. Bob Montgomery for his blacksmith workshop at LCMHS this evening during open house night. Students got to participate by making hooks and learning the science behind this art form. We look forward to future community involvement programs from the district in partnership with the full-service grant through Partners for Rural Impact!

Come and join us tomorrow 4:00-6:00 P.M. for our Open House. Guardians will be able to pick up report cards and talk with their child's teachers. Also, we will have Mr. Bob Montgomery set up outside of the lobby to demonstrate through an interactive workshop the art of his craft. Mr. Montgomery is a blacksmith out of Berea who loves to work with students and their families to teach and experience this artform firsthand through creations of various sculptures. We look forward to seeing you there! Check out the link about Bob Montgomery: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17XsNU77rZKQ-krIC5GWzaBMST7dReYIH/view?usp=drive_link

Our very own Mrs. Brewer has been published! Her article "Student Retention in Quantitative STEM Majors: Science Teachers and College Students’ Perceptions of Push and Pull Factors" was selected to be a part of BioOne’s Earth Day collection. The article is focused on research of why college students who enroll in college with Q-STEM Majors (physics, chemistry, and math) tend to switch their majors later in their college careers and solutions to keep students in these majors.

Parents, please take a moment to complete this 10-minute survey that will give you a chance to voice your needs concerning your child's education. Partners for Rural Impact (PRI) is working in LCMHS through the full-service community school's grant. We are looking for ways to decrease chronic absenteeism rates, increase high-school graduate rates, boost college and career readiness, enhance social and emotion well-being of our students, as well as family engagement within our school. We want to hear from you on this needs assessment survey. We will use the results form this survey to help guide our work. Thank you. https://partnersruralimpact.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cZRaDcbIldQDTIq
