Last week, LCE Students and Staff participated in KY Safe Schools Week.

This year's theme: Strong Roots. Safe Schools emphasized that together we are the roots that support one another, the trunk that stands strong, the branches that reach every member of our school community, and the future that grows from our actions.

The following students were recognized for creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for everyone. Caleigh Spencer, Isabella Chatt, Elizabeth Thorpe, Carter Mays, Kaisyn Dunaway, Jake Gabbard, Carson Turner, Landon Johnson, Lucy Hogan, and Jax Newton.

Congrats to the Lee County Elementary Fast Cats!
Boys and girls both won their meet at Riverside Thursday night. The boys team was led by Dalton Judd and Benny Lutes, who placed 1st and 2nd. Dalton won the race wearing only one shoe!
The girls team was led by Lillie Judd, Kyra Fox, and Addy Mays, who placed 2nd, 4th, and 5th.
The team will be in action again Saturday at the Beattyville Country Club. Race time for elementary is 10:30am.

They opened their season at the Morgan County Cougar Combo on Thursday, August 20th. The boys team placed second, and were led by Dalton Judd, who also placed second overall. The girls team placed first and were led by McKinley Pelfrey. Way to go Fast Cats!
