Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we have already completed 4 full weeks of Non Traditional Instruction and students have been out of our buildings for 5 weeks including spring break.  We have been blessed to have a healthy staff and have been able to continue to work the best we can to help our students continue learning at home.  The work is shifting next week to more hands on learning and activities designed by teachers that can be accomplished without having to send packets between schools and homes.  There will still be things posted in Google Classrooms and teachers will still be connecting with kids as much virtually as they can.  If you have paper packets at home that need to be turned in, we will leave the containers in our local stores through Sunday night.  We plan to pick them up on Monday and will not be putting them back out.  If you are not able to get your packets in by Sunday night, you can still turn them in at the schools after that.

Our lunch schedule will continue next week to be on Monday and Thursday.  Larger amounts of food is being delivered at each stop, so times may be delayed a little but the same pick up points will be used.

Next week another conference call with our governor is being planned and I believe that I will receive more information on his plan for schools.  After he speaks with us, we will make further plans for the remainder of the year and will continue to work on end of the year activity plans.  Information changes daily and we just take one day at a time while still looking forward.

We appreciate all the support our parents and community have shown us.  Our district couldn’t ask for a better partnership with our families and those in Lee County who care so deeply about the children in the school system.  I will reach back out to all of you when we have new information to share.

Sincerely,

Sarah S. Wasson

Superintendent
