About Our District
Lee County is located in the scenic Eastern Kentucky  foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, 25 miles southeast of Natural Bridge State Park.  This region is often call the Three Forks region, since Beattyville, our county seat, is where the North Fork, South Fork and Middle Fork meet to form the Kentucky River.

Lee County School District serves approximately 1,100 students in grades K-12, housed in one high school (9-12), one middle school (6-8), two elementary schools (K-5),  and an area technology center (9-12).  The district has consistently emphasized academic quality. In addition, the district is committed to providing 21st Century Learning instructional materials and equipment to our staff and students.  Every classroom in the district is equipped with ceiling mounted projectors and interactive whiteboards.

The Lee County School District, including all schools - Southside Elementary, Beattyville Elementary, Lee County Middle School, Lee County High School, and Lee County Area Technology Center, is accredited through AdvancED SACS/CASI.   For more information go to
